The Ladies of VH1's  Basketball Wives

Due to the overwhelming success of the original, "Basketball Wives LA" has hit the ground and running. But the show kinda feels like it's losing steam. I know that VH1 likes to profit from the reality shows that show women, mainly black women arguing and acting a fool. But guess what I like so many Americans finds this to be fairly entertaining. Not so much for the aspect of them fighting (or maybe so a little) but the fact that with all the money they may have there are still some buttons that can be pushed. I love to see people react to things and always try to think of how I would as well.  I can understand how people can be offended but at the end of the day it's all entertainment.

So far from following the show since it's premiere I'm not impressed. At least this time there are some actual wives that are featured on the show. Mainly Malaysia Pargo and Jackie Christie are actual wives with successful marriages. Jackie Christie sort of plays the mother hen of the bunch with her marriage to retired baller Doug Christie. They marry each other every year and they have been married for 16+ years. Malaysia, however is the youngest wife of the group. She is married to Jannero Prago who plays currently for the Chicago Bulls. She grew up in Compton but she also was a video vixen and was featured in Ludicris "Splash Waterfalls" video. Yet she seems uneasy about Draya...

Draya Michele is a model/actress (of course) who just so happen to be linked to various basket ball players and notoriously Chris Brown. It seems that almost everyone in the cast wants to portray her as the groupie. While with him she is accused of child endangerment a police report indicated that her son was left home alone in a filthy home. While Draya denies these accusations below is the police report indicating so. While I don't agree her lying I do still like her as a person so far. It seems a lot of the ladies give her flack. I think it's because she is young and beautiful and a lot of them are older and bitter and lonely.

Which brings me to Imani Showalter. Her ex fiance, Stephen Jackson,  ended their engagement right before the wedding because she wouldn't sign a pre-nup. Plus she lied to him about the amount of kids she had and her age to him. Soo I can completely understand why he walked away from her. She comes across as very prudish and holier than  thou. She constantly tries to base and degrade Draya which isn't fair because she doesn't know her and when she was younger she did her dirt as well.. She actually had the nerve to call her WORTHLESS!!! Pot meet kettle... you guys should get along swell.


Then there are the original ladies that were featured in more ways than one in the first couple seasons of the original "Basketball Wives", the Govan sisters Gloria and Laura. Gloria was featured in season one and two while Laura in just season one. Gloria is "engaged" to Matt Barnes who is also the father of their 2 sons. It seems they have been engaged forever and when she was on the show earlier she rubbed the other ladies the wrong way by having this attitude about how perfect of a couple they are and how mature she is and able to handle anything with her wonderful man. Meanwhile, rumors swirl about their engagement being over. On top of that there were domestic abuse charges against Matt at some time due to a fight they had.

And Laura who had been accused of having an affair with Shaq is one ghetto hot mess. She seems cool one minute but then the next seems totally crazy. Although she firmly stands by her denial of the affair there were several emails/texts that were leaked and shared between the two of them that suggest otherwise. And on the first episode just weeks after having baby number 4 (maybe even 5) this heffa is trying to fight Malaysia. Her children are all from Gilbert Arenas and they have on and off again relationship where he'll leave her with nothing feel guilty and come back again. Why has she never invested in birth control??

The remaining ladies are sorta of forgetful except for Kimsha Artest. She seems very unimpressed or involved in the lifestyle and she's rarely been featured on many episodes. She is the ex-wife of Ron Artest although on the show she still claims him as her husband.  I don't know. It just seems like a lot of these ladies are bitter at the younger and more attractive ones thinking that their love life is in trouble just because they let themselves become friends with a hot lady. It just feels like and seems like these ladies have nothing going on except for talking trash about each other. I almost feel like I fall asleep through the episodes unlike the original and I can only take so much of the gang up on the new young "groupie". Get over it, please. Your men are around women all the time unless you are clocking every second of the day that man moves.. I think this part of the franchise is dull and seems a little too forced.

Lady Gaga vs Weird Al? Not Likely.

Earlier in the week Weird Al posted his latest parody song "Perform this Way", a parody of "Born this Way" and stated that it was to be on his upcoming album but he could not use the song because Lady Gaga would not allow him to. Well that whole beef got squashed quick when the Gaga released a statement basically saying that she never heard the song so it never really gotten to her to be denied. One of her managers even coughed up to mistake.

"Gaga’s manager has now admitted that he never forwarded my parody to Gaga – she had no idea at all. Even though we assumed that Gaga herself was the one making the decision (because, well, that’s what we were TOLD), he apparently made the decision completely on his own." blogged Weird Al yesterday regarding the situation.

 I then kind of ask why would you not assume that it hasn't gotten to Lady Gaga, Weird Al? I know everybody knows who you are and love you but in the same instance she's touring around and must have of team of people to handle those types of decisions. It kind of seems like a hype for the song and to generate some sort of thing with one of the biggest pop stars around today. I guess whatever you got to do to remain relevant. I guess if porn parodies are making a comeback so can Weird Al.

Brooke and Charlie, Custody Battle...

These are my thoughts, go with it.

I get the whole spiel that addicts are what they are. And that it is a disease. I totally understand that. But a lot of times in everyday instances, if both parents are incompetent especially given their addictions the children would be placed in the custody of either close relatives or foster care. They're rights are given up as parents until they both can prove that they are sane and drug  free people and can raise their children.

This weekend it had been reported that Brooke Mueller had denied taking a mandatory drug test upon news that she had relapsed. Sure enough as you can blink, Charlie Sheen takes up to file for custody yet he is denied. Seems that Brooke somehow is exempt from the treatment that so many people have been going through for quite sometime. Children that are so far gone in the system that they begin to lose hope of ever having the chance of seeing their parents clean. And of course due to the celebrity and the immense amount of money Charlie Sheen has and is worth compared to some everyday person that has the same situation.


I love Charlie Sheen. Only because I don't buy the whole disease factor especially when you can recognize your problem and still function with it or without it. Plus, he's Charlie Sheen, it's kind of expected and has for years with his track record and history. I honestly think they are both two peas in a cracked up pod. Brooke just rubs me the wrong way almost like a hanger on. She is supposed to be in Paris Hilton's new reality show. (I won't name it because I don't care to see it)  Its the lack of care it seems she showing for her children. It's like she dumps them off on her mother whenever its convenient. Sure, Charlie would use nannies and things of that nature. But it really didn't seem like those children where in any danger when the were with him.

 

The court's still granting her custody is really weird to me. I honestly can see them just giving custody to her mother or Martin Sheen. Denise Richards has even thrown her name in the hat to care for them which would be good because then the boys can connect more with their sisters. But still this cracked out, part time rehab junkie should just fade away.

Sarah Lane...

I guess she thinks she is taking up a cause but I really think its something else. Sarah Lane who is credit as a stunt person in the movie Black Swan is 'speaking up' in regards to how much of the dancing was the star, Natalie Portman and how much was done by her.  Sarah basically contends that the majority of dancing shots were done by her and all this was to be covered up in effort to earn the votes for Natalie's now big Oscar win.  She did work as a double for Natalie in the movie, granted. But honestly, does anyone's stunt double receive the majority of the credit when it comes to things like this?? I don't think so.

Last time I checked, Sarah Lane is a dancer, not editor, not director, not producer. Even if she is listed as a stunt person usually the stunt person is used for the more intricate and tougher moves that the actor themselves may not be able to handle.  I think we as human beings  understand this and understand how far in we are technologically with special effects. But to think Sarah is putting Natalie and the film on blast instead of simply supporting it and getting the extra work and gigs from it instead of trying to bait a pregnant woman into going back and forth about it with you and the world.

Of course I feel dancers should be recognized for their hard work on this film, but even I know that when it comes to these instances the focal point will always be squarely on the actor and the work they acheived to withstand the role. If you gave me nothing but the best  choreographers, trainers, danced 5 hours everyday, be allowed on a strict diet, and also have and extensive medical team on hand for safe keeping you bet I'd know how to dance like her too.  Sarah Lane insist that Natalie only did 5% of the dancing.  Whenever I see the movie I don't see that. (Again we have the best special effects) But I can only see it when they are far away shots which weren't too too many.

Sarah wants to say that Natalie deserves the Oscar win (which she does) but in the same instance still bring this up seems shady. Not to mention that she is friends with the ex-girlfriend of Natalie's fiance, choreographer Benjamin Mellepied. I think that is a little suspect. Since he left the girlfriend once he started working with Natalie on the film. Maybe there is something a little bigger than what is truly being mentioned for Sarah's 'cause'. And its seems a bit spiteful.

Crack is Wack, Brooke!!!!

Seems that suspicion was high yesterday for Brooke Mueller, estranged wife of Charlie Sheen and mother of his twin boys Max and Bob.  Due to a restraining order she has custody of their children. Or her parents have custody of them. Although the world is very privy to the big drug life style of Charlie Sheen, Brooke has been having a struggle of her own with crack cocaine.

Yesterday she was to undergo a random drug test. Reports and gossip sites ran ramppet with reports of her relasping, even surviellance footage showing her trying to pawn a watch and stereo began to appear. And  her appearance in an Inglewood Pawn Shop draws many questions. Since she declined to take the test it was deemed a dirty test.

First off, as a black woman who has lived in a predominately black neigborhood, whenever you see a white person, especially one that looks of the effulence of Brooke, come around you know they have to be looking for drugs. So then my question is what hope do either of these children have if both their parents can't seem to get their act together? It also seems that the lesser of the two evils is Charlie. Sad to say, but he is employed, and cares very deeply for his children regardless of a life style. But you don't read about him scoring in a crack den neighborhood. There just seems to be a huge element of deceit about Brooke that I'm just not so sure about.


First off, there isn't really too much known about her except her being a failed actress (as most are), a socialite (friends with Paris Hilton, really?), and real estate agent.  She did spend time in rehab shortly after her split with Charlie. So the fact that she has these children with Charlie and no one ever hears about her having custody or even spending time with the kids. When the kids where in his custody they were looked after whether they were porn stars or models, they didn't seem to have any negative nor harmful intentions towards the children and they geniunely like those girls, Bree Olson and Natalie Kenly.

Now since she has this dirty test on record, Charlie can swoop back in and try to fight her back for custody. And that is something he obviously would try to do. What's sad is the back and forth these kids have to go through and the lack of stability they desperately need. They really aren't getting what they need from their mother especially if she is out trying to score crack. And the fact that they both can't come to a mutual understanding is not good thing for those kids. I honestly feel they deserve each other. Crack Pipes Unite!!!

Oh, Kobe.. What The Fag?

It seems men can't just be men anymore. Whether gay, straight, transgendered or what ever. It seems us females can be brash enough to call each other "fags" without GLAAD or LGBT requesting that I apologize. Or hell, I'm not even getting fined for it.
I feel Kobe Bryant's apology, which was sorta laced as a 'i'm sorry for offending anyone'. Which should be his apology. He might've caved in the end and apologized to all those groups but the bottom line is he shouldn't. I understand that the word was used as a homophobic slur, but now I feel people are getting way too sensitive about things.

I remember when I was elementary school. The school was predominately black as am I. I had a pretty cool fourth grade teacher named Mr. Flowers. I remember calling someone a 'fag' not really knowing that it could be meant for homosexual person nor did I really know what a homosexual was. I always thought of it meaning weak minded or being a pussy about something. He sat me down to look up the definition in the dictionary and I still remember it because I think I wrote it like a hundred times.

No where did it mention that it means homosexual and nor did I think it did mean that. I don't like this huge censorship that we all have to deal with. You can't say 'gay', 'fag', 'faggot', 'retard'...And I understand it is a real condition of someone being mentally retarded.  In the past we had television show's like "All in the Family", "Good Times", and my personal favorite "SOAP". Where they were able to say all types of things without any super huge big issue. These shows existed because people had a sense of humor about themselves. And not put such a high ridiculous value to words.

I hate it when these organizations and others whom like to say that those words are the same as being called nigger. Well, if it is own it and use it for your own. Stop complaining when a straight person does it. It only proves a point. There was a period of time where these words didn't bother nor effected the gay community and it really didn't seem that long ago. I feel these organizations should focus on other more important things like why are homosexual wrestlers or sport's figures ever highlighted or receive far treatment? Yet we are concerned that Kobe Bryant called a ref a " fucking faggot".  Maybe he was being a fag. Doesn't mean he's gay. Stop trying to censor the world because honestly we can't stop every white person from saying the word 'nigger' so get over it and move on.

Stifler is out of Rehab!

It has been reported that Seann William Scott has completed his 30 days of treatment for "health and personal issues" at a rehab center. Seann will begin filming American Pie 4 soon. And I honestly think that is not a great idea.

I kinda think that this downward spiral from him wasn't at all shocking. They typecast him in almost every movie he is in. He is always playing the "Stifler" character. I understand that's where we grew to love about  him but we also fell for him in Dude Where's My Car? Even Ashton has wised up to the fact that he'll just be cast a hot mimbo for everything. In the movie "Southland Tales" I was very impressed with his performance. And I find it to be a very underrated movie if anything. I hope that he pulls through this okay.

By the way, does anyone even care to see them all reunite for an American Pie movie?? Didn't they make enough of those gaudy direct to DVD sequels?

The Beautiful Catherine Zeta Jones

Yesterday Catherine Zeta Jones' publisist released a statement confirming the actress  has gone to a mental health treatment center. It seems that she suffers from Bipolar Disorder II. Cece Yorke, Catherine's publicist states " After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar  II disorder."  It seems that although Bipolar I is more of a manic depressive form of the disorder Bipolar II is more rapid changes of mood and is more extreme than I. With Bipolar II certain triggers can cause a person to react. This comes as a shock to everyone in the industry. But of course I'm not that shocked. Allow me to break down some of the factors..

She married Michael Douglas who is 25 years older than her. So right now she is 41. Once she is 50 he will be he'll be 75. Then there is the question if he will even make it that far. Michael Douglas had been diagnosed with Throat Cancer and  initially he stated that this was advanced stage IV. Although it is in remission not too many people fully survive from Stage IV. From my understanding once it at that stage the 5 year survival rate is less than 10%. And those aren't good odds. Could the stress of caring for a loved one on top of the thought that they may not survive cause her to transition?

A lot of people don't realize that taking care of someone who is sick can be physically and mentally draining especially if you aren't used to doing it. I honestly hope for the best for her and hope that she get's the help she needs. I kinda feel like the role she played in Chicago, Velma Kelly was her. Its just a side to her we don't get to see. Again lots of well wishes to her and her family.

We get it. Prince William is no longer a little boy. He's finally grown up and decided to marry Kate Middleton on April 29th. And no doubt their wedding will be a  huge event that everyone in the world will clamour to see. I honestly don't get it and I'm such a voyeur.

Jeez he's only 29 years old. And within very short years he started taking after Prince Charles hard. So I lost interest. What kinda bothers me is that all this may be taking place during our government shut down and I don't quite find that to be too much a coincidence. Do they think that the world will be so busy watching this young boy that everyone feels they watched grow before their eyes to marry a common girl as his father did with the 'Great' Princess Diana.

Let these people have their lavish wedding in peace because God only knows that many of us won't be able to afford such an affair. And the more that we are brainwashed into thinking that these sorts of lifestyles are the norm we as a people will never overcome debt and will owe for the rest of our lives. I don't mean to get preachy or anything but our government has already threatened a shut down and just because everything at the time being seems okay doesn't mean they can't try and high jack our militaries pay or take drastic cuts away from important health services for women.

I guess I can say I'd care if it were Prince Harry getting married. At least until he starts taking after Prince Charles too. I really hope he takes after Diana and age gracefully without the losing of the hair.  Princess Diana did a lot of good things, but people like to forget that she also did some not so good things as well.  So I just beg that we not make this a big spectacle. Their union will no way will make any big decisions for us in the United States, so the wedding does not need to be aired without commercial interruptions. Stop the CNN breaking news regarding who is on their guest list.  We actually have things that matter and can effect a lot more lives than two people getting married.

Tori Spelling has announced via twitter that she is expecting her 12th i mean 3rd child. It seems that since that whole Dean McDermott cheating on her and basically flat out saying that she was ugly kinda got swept under the rug quick with her coochie.

I think Dean is a hot man. But sometime when I see them together on their various shows they love to pimp, I kinda want to throw up in my mouth a little bit. How is this old heffa still cranking out kids?? And is this a ploy to keep in the limelight to have yet another reality show based on your adventures? That's almost like just sayin' "that bitch is just my baby mama."  It seems like more so as my previous statement, maybe it was a drunken hook up. That Wolf movie he last did certainly wasn't his best.  I dunno.

Wealthiest Drunken Reality Cast Award Goes To.....

I might be the only person on earth that has never watched "Jersey Shore" on MTV. And judging by all the buzz this cast has been receiving I honestly don't want to. Apparently its being reported that the cast has agreed to sign on for an additional season and will be receiving a bump up in salary. They are said to be receiving $100,000 per episode!

Are these people really worth it? I mean not to say I don't like reality TV. I am a reality TV junkie. I love the drama and the fights but something gets in my crawl about these people. Not so much the show. I haven't watched it. So I don't really know if its good or not. It sickens me to know that Snooki got paid more than Nobel Prize winning Toni Morrison or even for to speak at Rutgers, it really bothers me. Reality stars are really taking away from the whole art of writing and actually producing and bringing to light talented artist not a group of drunken frat wannabes that play into sterotypes instead of against. They don't deserve fame. They damn sure don't deserve all that money. I'm waiting for the world to finally say "Hey, you're fifteen minutes are up, keep it movin' ". It would really be nice.
